ESSENTIAL CIRCUIT
ISOLATION
Essentialelectrical loadsare loadsthat will be powered by
the Home Generator System.Essentialloads are grouped
together and wired into the transfer switch.
A AUTION!This Home Generator System MUSTbe installed as described herein.
TO THE INSTALLER: Consult with Home
Generator System owner(s) to discusstheir
"Selection of EssentialCircuits", described in the
owner's manual.
Ensure that the total of the selected loadcircuits fed by this
transfer switch are within the generator's rated capacity.
The following requirements apply to this type of isolation
system:
The Automatic Transfer Switch is installed after the main
distribution panel.
The AutomadcTransfer Switch hasa load rating of
50 Amps.This is the maximum load rating of the essential
loads.
All wiring must conform to the National Electrical Code,
and all state and local codes.
The illustration in Figure I I depicts the Home Generator
System and assumesthe utility is supplying 120/240Volt,
slngle-phaseelectrical service.
